With a work history that includes flipping burgers and fitting lingerie – not at the same time – it’s no surprise that she has the unique ability to relate to just about anyone. Her straightforward attitude and problem solving abilities have helped her form remarkable relationships with her clients.
Originally from a tiny town on the east coast of Canada, she’s happy to make the Island her home, spending quality time with her husband and two almost-good dogs.

Cindy has been part of the Exceptional Team for over seven years, and has been in the financial industry in various roles for over 14 years. She’s indispensable in our office, and is the fiery redhead who helps us stay on top of everything. As a mom of two gorgeous teenage daughters, Cindy is more than capable of making sure things run well.

One of the rare, true islanders, Cindy was born and raised on this little Pacific paradise we call home. She grew up in the Westshore area, so she was pretty excited when we moved our offices to her stomping grounds.

Yan-Min began working with the team while she was still in high school. She then pursued studies at UBC in areas of international relations and economics. Yan-Min took on an international internship opportunity to work at Time Warner’s Asia Pacific headquarters in Hong Kong as a Policy Analyst, responsible for analyzing regulatory and market access challenges impacting business operations across Asia Pacific. She then returned to Victoria to be closer to her family, and continues to be an exceptional member of our team. In her spare time, Yan Min enjoys reading, hiking, attending local events, and traveling to a new country each year.

Our Process

We use a 9 step process to provide you with an Exceptional experience.

Before you become a client, we would like to:

  1. Get to Know You – In our first meeting, we want to learn about you – who you are, what you want, and what’s important to you.
  2. Learn about your Goals/Background Information – We need to know what your goals are. You have goals for this year, and ten years from today, and we need your information to develop a strategic approach.
  3. Discuss a preliminary plan, your areas of concern, our future together – We want you to be confident that we’re the right team for you, before you become a client.

Once you become a client, we will:

  1. Complete an Investment Suitability Questionnaire – We will review your goals and your risk tolerance to create a plan that works for you.
  2. Review cash management, tax planning, and money decisions – With your permission, we will contact your accountant to better understand your financial circumstances and identify tax opportunities.
  3. Build a custom investment plan and make portfolio recommendations – We will create an investment vehicle to help you achieve your goals.

While you are our client, we will:

  1. Tailor a service schedule to meet your individual needs. – We want to meet with you on a regular basis to ensure your plan keeps up with your life. We normally will review with you twice per year, but if things change, please contact us as they happen. We’re here to help.
  2. We will regularly review your financial plan and make recommendations as needed – We will help you with your comprehensive financial plan and offer our service to your friends and family as well as your colleagues, should they require anything.
  3. Assess your risk management and estate planning – For your personal longterm planning, we will review your will, Power of Attorney (POA) and setup permission to contact your executor/executrix.

If we don’t take care of our clients, someone else will.
